In addition to wearing black at this year’s Golden Globes, many Hollywood celebrities also wore a tiny pin that say Time’s Up.

More than 300 prominent women in show business have started a movement called Time’s Up. The group’s goal is to “address the systematic inequality and injustice in the workplace that have kept underrepresented groups from reaching their full potential”. The group plans on taking steps to enable men and women to access the legal system and hold those initiating the behavior responsible.

One thing is clear: Sexual harassment is widespread – more than many ever realized.

Undoubtedly, the Black Dress and Time’s Up movements are both helping shed light on an important issue. But there is a long way to go. We need to continue having conversations about sexual harassment and misconduct in the workplace. Most importantly, victims of workplace sexual harassment need to be empowered to speak up and take action. The law supports victims.
