Wrongful termination lawsuit hits historic hotel

A former manager at the historic Tabard Inn hotel, located in Washington D.C., has filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against one of the owners as well as other employees of the establishment. In the complaint, the former employee claims that the owners of the establishment did nothing to calm a hostile work environment. Along with this, she claims she was retaliated against when she registered a complaint of sexual harassment.

There are two other lawsuits, similar to this one, in which three additional former managers claim the same company wrongfully terminated them.

The president and CEO of Tabard Corp. did not comment on the lawsuits, however, a new board member of the company feels that the complaints are nothing more than those coming from disgruntled former employees.

In one complaint, a former special events manager, who resigned at the end of May, claims that another employee made physical contact with her. When reported to the owner, he reportedly told the former employee to take it as a compliment.

Due to the actions of the employees and owner towards her, she decided to move on after 10 years of service for the company.

The lawsuit goes on to claim that the reaction to the employee's claim of sexual harassment was a violation of the Human Rights Act.

If you feel you have been fired for no reason, you may be able to file a wrongful termination lawsuit against your former employer. An attorney with experience in this area of the law can navigate the challenges of this type of case, spell out the multiple reasons for which an employer has no grounds for firing an employee, and help the terminated party receive compensation.
