Amy Wootton focuses her practice on employment matters and civil litigation. She represents both employers and employees in a wide range of employment issues including harassment claims based on race, gender, sex, sexual orientation, age, mental and physical disabilities, pregnancy, national origin, claims of wrongful termination, breach of contract, whistle-blowing, wage disputes, discrimination and retaliation claims and grievance proceedings. She counsels and represents employers and employees in all aspects of civil employment from pre-trial through trial and appeal. Ms. Wootton's litigation experience includes jury trials, bench trials, mediations, and considerable deposition and motion practice.
Several of the cases Ms. Wootton has recently handled have received media attention and have been reported on in newspapers and trade publications in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Miami, and London, as well as national magazines and main line media television shows.
Ms. Wootton received her law degree from Pepperdine University School of Law, where she was a Dean's Scholarship recipient and a Gunnar Nicholson Endowed Scholarship recipient. Ms. Wootton received her undergraduate degree in Sociology from University of California, Los Angeles. While at UCLA, Ms. Wootton was on the Dean's Honor List and a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society, Pi Gamma Mu (honors society for the social sciences) and Alpha Kappa Delta Society (honors society for the social sciences).
Ms. Wootton is a member of the State Bar of California, Los Angeles Bar Association and admitted to practice in the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit and United States District Court, Central District of California.
